The significant events in the history of The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce was established at the founders’ meeting on the July the 2nd, 1990. During the meeting The Chamber’s Statute of the company was passed and The Board was appointed. As a result, on the 29th November SCIC was listed at The National Judicial Register as The Chamber of Trade and Industry.
In November, 1990, The first General Chamber’s Assembly was held and Mr Michał Chałoński was elected the President of the Chamber. One of the first important events in the history of The SCIC was creation of the examination centre of London Chamber of Trade and Industry in August, 1992. This centre was aimed to improve the language skills of the companies’ employees belonging to the Chamber.
Then, in February, 1992, The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce organized two-day nationwide session in Poland for the journalists involved in the economic issues. The management of The National Economic Chamber participated in the meeting too.
In November, 1992 the Chamber founded The Enterprise Assistance Centre (one of 17 in Poland) – a unit providing the advisory activity for the enterprises of The ?więtokrzyskie Region.
In March, 1994 The Chamber Directors Council with its leader, Ryszard Zbróg, was appointed. This council’s aims are working out the standpoints, endorsement and representation of the entrepreneurs’ environment towards the institutions and authorities of different kind. It has been the most authentic form of The Chamber members’ activity within the confines of The SCIC. The outstanding representatives of the authorities and social-economic life take part in the Directors Council’s meetings.
In August, 1997 The Chamber together with The Prince of Wales Leader Forum implemented the project “Partnership for the Community” , aimed to integrate the entrepreneurs’ sector with nongovernmental organizations and the local government. In January, 1998 The SCIC organized the training-advisory project Company 2000 aimed to raise the competitiveness of the companies in The ?więtokrzyskie Region.
During the national administration reform carried out at the turn of 1998 and 1999 The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce became the seat and the centre of the organization and the activity of The Old Polish Regional Defence Movement led by the present Chamber’s President, Ryszard Zbróg. Due to this fact the common ground for different environments was created, which resulted in foundation of The ?więtokrzyskie Province.
In December, 1998 The Economic Forum of The ?więtokrzyskie Province was established on The SCIC’s initiative. The Forum consists of the most important economic organizations in the region. The Forum’s activity is devoted to establishing the entrepreneurs’ uniform position on the fundamental economic issues. In March, at The General Election Assembly of The SCIC Ryszard Zbróg was elected the Chamber’s President.
In October, 2000 The SCIC won the competition for operating the Euro Info Centre – the project based on partnership within the confines of the cooperation with The European Committee. The Euro Info Centre is of consequence in information, training and advisement for small and medium enterprises referring to the companies’ operating on The Uniform European Union Market and the union law.
In October, 2000 The SCIC gained accreditation for The National Services System which involved receiving The NSS Certificate of Quality for offering information and training services for small and medium enterprises. In October, 2000 The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce realized the programme PRAQ III in cooperation with Euro Info Centre in The Netherlands, which was designed to train the entrepreneurs in the standardization and normalising issues in UE.
In the years 2000 – 2004 The Consultation and Advisement Agency was operating in the Chamber’s structures (within the confines of The National Services System), which was offering information and advisory services for companies of the SME sector (in the field of administration and legal aspects of managing economic activity, the law, marketing, finance, export, available sources of SMEs activity’s financing, UE assistance programmes.
In 2001 The SCIC performed the project Regional Programme of Counteraction and Moderation of the Unemployment’s effects which was designed to employ temporarily the jobless and provide the vocational training practice. Thanks to that action 97 people gained full employment.
November, 2001 crowned the effort made so far, because The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce won the competition for fulfilling the Regional Financing Institution’s function and still implemented the UE assistance programmes referred to the sector of small and medium enterprises in The Świętokrzyskie Province.
In the years 2002 – 2004 The Old Polish Chamber realized the Rural Areas Activation Programme (3 editions 2002, 2003, 2004), which was designed to enable the companies of The ?więtokrzyskie Region to employ workers on highly preferable conditions. Due to the project 507 people gained employment.
In the turn of 2003 and 2004 The Old Polish Chamber participated in the works on the Regional Innovation Strategy through developing “The Economic Potential Evaluation of The Świętokrzyskie Province”. In the years 2005 and 2006 The Chamber will participate in monitoring of The Regional Innovation Strategy’s implementation.
In 2004 The OCPTI together with the chain of Euro Info Centres from the countries standing for UE organized the campaign ENLARGEMENT aimed to present the benefits resulting from UE membership.
In March, 2004 The Chamber realized the 9-month closed training project The Old Polish PLATO, which was designed according to the requirements of small and medium companies and performed in cooperation with The Belgium Trade and Industry Chamber. The project was divided into four main issues: strategy, marketing and sales, finance and personnel management. The training resulted in creating the strategies of their companies development (business plans) by the participants – small and medium enterprises.
In March, 2004 The SCIC organized a promotion campaign encouraging to use E-commerce (electronic trade) in trade transactions. In 2004 The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce won the competition for fulfilling the function of The Regional Financing Institution in The ?więtokrzyskie Province, where this institution still implemented the UE assistance programmes designed for small and medium enterprises.
In 2005 The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce continued the broad activity in aid of its members and, additionally, it won the competition and became The Regional Consultation Agency for small and medium enterprises. It involved The SCIC’s work coordination of all the Consultation Agencies situated in The ?więtokrzyskie Province, but also it gained accreditation in The National Services System in offering the following services:
Furthermore, in 2005 The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce conjoined the training projects’ implementation within the confines of The Sector Operational Programme The Human Resources Development. The SCIC will realize the series of trainings on the foreign commerce and negotiations, which will be attended by 300 representatives of the managing personnel and the owners of 250 small, medium and big enterprises. The trainings will be led by the outstanding Polish experts in these fields.
Moreover, The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce served its training projects to The Integrated Operational Programme of Regional Development for providing a series of trainings “European Adviser”. These trainings are aimed to acquaint the employees of small, medium and big enterprises with the possibilities of receiving preparation to union programmes as well as preparing these applications by their companies. Both of the training projects are entirely free of charge and, first of all, the members of The Staropolska Chamber of Industry and Commerce are invited.
